Yves Saint Laurent – Libre Eau De Parfum Intense

YSL Libre Intense is a sweet, floral, delicious, warm and sensual scent. It has a luxurious powdery aura that oozes out confidence and opulence. It also has a warm slightly mystical vibe but at the same time, it is a bit linear. I have been reaching out for this one daily for the past one week, and oh boy, this has really grown on me.

I admire the beautiful packaging of this bottle and love the color of the dark warm liquid inside it. The bottle looks stunning with the slanted YSL logo and the beautiful chain-like neckline. It is elegant and has a modern, sophisticated and bold outlook.

The fragrance opens with some juicy mandarin orange and orange blossom, which support the charismatic, botanical Lavender – the star of the show. The lavender here is smooth, refined and luxurious – smells like an expensive high-end fabric softener.

As the fragrance settles, Jasmine, Orange blossom and Orchid become more prominent and begin to blend well with the aromatic lavender. After a while, this scent starts leaning gourmand with the combination of Madagascar vanilla, tonka beans absolute and ambergris which give this delicious, sweet, rich and slightly thick cloud. However, the florals balance out the sweetness and prevent the scent from becoming one-dimensional.

The overall combination smells glamourous, dense, lavish, warm, sensual and at the same time not too overpowering. It is a bit reminiscent of calming, sweet, scented candles which fills the room with its floral powdery vibe.
