One of the main reasons for me to start reviewing fragrances, was to introduce you all to many perfumes which are hardly noticed by many and are difficult to find reviews for. One such beauty is, L’occitane Figuer and Roses.
After wearing so many fruity floral fragrances for so many years, my nose was pleased to sniff this unique scent. I hardly find fig notes in female fragrances, and whenever I do, they are either niche or private blends which are very expensive on the pocket.
I love L’occitane perfumes because they smell as close to the natural ingredients as possible. This fragrance is very fresh, green, sweet and rosy. It has notes of fig, fig leaf and fig tree and I absolutely feel like I am sitting in a garden under a fig tree and enjoying its fruits. The Rose in the fragrance enhances the fig notes and adds subtle sweetness and longevity to the fragrance.
The fragrance is really unique, light, easy to wear, uplifting and perfect for summer and springtime.
For those who don’t know, fig notes are generally green, juicy, a bit floral and sweet, with a lactonic vibe. And the fig tree and leaf notes are also green but slightly more bitter, sharp and earthy.
Overall, it’s a very beautiful, complex, exquisite and luxurious scent. It projects well for an initial couple of hours, then it morphs into a skin-like sweet creamy green floral scent. I wish this lasted longer.
This fragrance reminded me of Philosykos by Diptyque and Figues and Argumes from Lancome. However, L’occitane Figuer and Rose is more feminine with the rose in the heart.
